As part of our television series on S4C, Teulu’r Castell, viewers were able to share my initial journey into beekeeping and what has become a real love and passion project of mine.

I had always fancied keeping bees. Something so fascinating about them, the fact that there is this strong hive mentality. Nothing is more important to the bees than the hive and protecting it. Having had a lesson with Gruffydd at Gwenyn Gruffydd I was instantly hooked.
I enjoy the strange calm of caring for the bees. It has been quite a learning curve understanding how sensitive they are to weather conditions and the general environment. Watching them explore our gardens and fields going from one flower to the next leaving for the hive hanging with pollen is amazing.
